Emerging Artist Program
Applications are closed for the 2024–2025 Emerging Artist Program.
The Emerging Artist Program was conceived to act as a stepping stone for an artist early in their career, into the professional art world of exhibiting and operating an artist run gallery. The gallery will help an emerging artist show a body of new work in a professional setting. The emerging artist will be connected with experienced mentors who will educate them on the practical aspects of every day art gallery business. In addition, they will have the opportunity to voice their own vision and ideas about future goals for the gallery.
Kingston Gallery requires the emerging artist to reside in the greater Boston area and take on several responsibilities, including attending monthly meetings, collaborating with our marketing director and the marketing working group, and participating in activities related to gallery maintenance. Additionally, the artist must gallery sit once a month and is encouraged to establish personal contacts with members, including studio visits. The initiation fee and monthly dues are waived and the artist's commitment culminates in a one-person show in our Center Gallery by the end of their tenure.
We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply. We believe that our collective creative potential is best advanced by the contributions of people with diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. We welcome applicants of all races, religions, sexes, ages, disability statuses, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Your unique voice and vision are essential to our mission of showcasing contemporary art. Join us in building a vibrant, inclusive community where every artist is valued and can thrive.
